A Spring Summer Sun Clock

Alright I'm on altered clock again. When I received my latest Pion Design DT pack which contained Linnaeus Botanical Journal collection and design colour palette, I had a hard time thinking of a project I could do. As I looked at my room and there's wall clock, I knew I need a clock.

Here am sharing one project taking from Linnaeus famous sunclock as an inspiration and made myself a sun clock!

My Bizarre Two Days

Yes I know I've not been updating due to some curses I was having for the past months. I was literally artistically incapacitated, creatively constipated. I wished for a potion that I could just flush all my creative juices out and be able to function well like a human. Seriously, I guess it has got to do with my ultra long working hours, late sleeping and waking up late that's causing all these curses.

Well, in order to get rid of those evil curses, I've been trying very hard to sleep early and wake up early. Sooo, I bought myself a physical alarm clock from Ikea and started to train myself. Because of this physical clock in place, I can't snooze the alarm. I always do that on my iPhone! Good initiative. The earlier I wake up, the better I could get my day started correctly. While I'm struggling to get this new routine in place, I'd like to share what had happened during the past 2 days of my life...

ErmM... (*pinch, shake and clear throat*)...

DAY ONE (1)
I was trying to off my alarm clock this morning but to no avail. I called in my assistant to help me turn off the alarm but no matter what we did, we just couldn't off it... And the alarm went louder and louder!!!

Suddenly, I jumped off the bed and got to realize I was actually dreaming and the sound of the alarm was actually coming from my real life Ikea alarm clock which I placed it on my desk. No wonder my assistant and I couldn't shut the bloody alarm up 'cos we are just a dimension away!

... ...

DAY TWO (2)
I was at my friend's place watching TV and fell asleep. Then my iPhone alarm went on. My friend's wife tried to off it for me but to no avail. She called her husband (my friend) for help and couldn't off it. And he tried to pry open my iPhone to off it. Still, the alarm went on and on till I got up and wonder why is he doing that to my phone! The alarm just couldn't get turn off!!!!

Suddenly, I jumped off from my bed and got to realize it was my real life iPhone alarm and I was dreaming. We are a dimension away!

Yesterday my assistant and I couldn't off my Ikea alarm clock and today my friend had to pry open my iPhone!

Lesson learnt - Get the butt off the bed immediately once your alarm clock starts ringing!!!

Indeed, the past 2 days have been bizarre to me - traveling between dimensions of reality and dreams. And this reminds me of sharing another altered mobile case project for both ScrapFX and Shimmerz Paints. Just couldn't get enough of phone covers I guess...

A Rare Oddity Whimsical Night Owl Candle Cover

Here is the most exciting thing that's happening this weekend! Presenting here my little creation for this Spellbinders Whimsical Woodland Blog Fest - A Night Owl Candle Cover. When I first received this dude, he's seriously small!!! I could barely paint his beaks and feet well. Does this reminds you of burning some sort of midnight oil?

Talking about burning midnight oil, staying up late to study is something (I believe) every student has gone through. It's also a very common notion for people who don't believe in studying consistently. Haha! I'm actually one of them simply because I'm a very forgetful person! What I study for today I can simply forget the following day! I've very forgetful brainy cells; they just love registering images more than words. I'm a visual learner and I prefer much in messing things up in the Lab to aid my understanding rather than reading strings of words (which I seriously hate).

Gone were the days where I had to burn tons of midnight oil. I wish I could just burn all my notes, digest them and throw them out on my exam papers and get distinctions! Wow! If someone had invented something like that, I'm 101% sure I'll BUY it at all cost! Alright, another digress rant of mine! Pardon me...

Here is the Snapguide tutorial, sit back and enjoy! There's a giveaway during these 3 days, do hop by each participating blogs to enter. Details can be found HERE. Happy crafting and Good Luck!!!

Back to School Origami Book Corners

It's weekend! For today's Graphic 45 blogpost, I'm sharing something a little simple, with practicality - origami book corners. While bookmarks are quite common, it can be quite interesting to do something a little different.

Over here I'm showing you how to create these simple book corners that you can even get your kids to get involve. Let them make their very own book corners and I'm sure this will be a good bonding session with your children.

Enjoy! Happy crafting!

A Lovely Romantic Death

Allow me to present something a little off, perhaps quite dark to some. My youngest sister has been swearing on the kind of work I've been doing up lately just because she suddenly finds me too morbid and depressing. Haha... As I promised that I'm still in my most right sense of mind, I'm just trying to bring some sweetness out from the very dark - a lovely death...

I was on the papers one fine afternoon, a wedding picture featuring a couple using coffin as part of their wedding photography concept caught my attention. They are undertakers by profession. But hell, I love this very cool idea despite of it's morbidity! With my admiration of Tim Burton's melancholic fantasies, I started to have this wild idea of doing up a skeleton wedding couple.

This piece is available for sale HERE...

Who doesn't want to die romantically with your loved one? I bet most of us want that. Till Death Do Us Part. To be able to be embraced as such till point of death is seriously the most romantic thing to do, even we ended up as pack of bones. But how many of us are actually blessed like this? I wish and am always fantasying in my lala-land...

A pledge of love, stands firmly above. Coffins are not that bad. While it's only natural for most homo sapiens to take it negatively, I just want to dismiss this morbid notion by injecting love. Not trying to encourage death and lead a tragic love life like Romeo and Juliet, but to show the other side of how love can withstand death.

A coffin bed with a bed of roses. Life is not always a bed of roses, but it's definitely beautiful the way it is. The real essence of true love is always evident when both is able to go through thick and thin together on all circumstances. That's definitely the most beautiful thing of all.
