The Mermaid Museum

For this month Alpha Stamp's kit is all about Mermaids... And I'd think most of us have probably watched Walt Disney's The Little Mermaid movie but how many of us actually read the story of The Little Mermaid written by Hans Christian Andersen?? While everyone of us familiarly referred the little mermaid as the red-haired Ariel and her happily ever after ending with the Prince in the movie, the actual fate of the mermaid's life in Hans' story was her ascension into the air where she dissolved and became foam...

For over 300 years since the day The Mermaid's ascension, historians and archaeologists are very curious about her afterlife... Although the marine and human life of the mermaid are pretty well studied by the experts, the aftermath after she became foam and varnished into thin air are poorly understood... For she had forsaken her lovely mesmerizing tail for a pair of human legs in order to live as a human, we thought the tail had indeed vanished... It was till very recently, a group of archaeologists discovered her tail, foam ashes and various marine and human artifacts at the Northern celestial pole of The Meridian, providing an insight story of The Mermaid's life; a series of mysteries therefore gradually unfolds...

This entire museum is available for sale HERE...

It seriously took that much amount of effort, with so much special tools, chemicals and techniques to sort, restore and preserve the mermaid tail, her foam ashes and other discoveries which ultimately exhausted an enormous amount of energies and years... As much as we think we know this much about the marine and human life of The Mermaid, much of the discoveries reveal much more details than we ever thought of... With all the accomplished effort by the experts, The Mermaid Museum is finally fully erected, available for public viewing for the very first time in history...

Walk into the aftermath story of The Mermaid's life and experience the journey like you've never been before, for she has forsaken her tail for a pair of human legs in exchange for a human life... It's also for the first time, a treasury chest of her various belongings as a human are revealed...

A Cute Welcome to My Little Candy World

As far as my brain functions, I realized I just simply couldn't create something without a story behind... And as I progress further, I notice I've been taking longer than usual to complete a piece of work...

Over here, I'm sharing one of my sweetest imaginations - the Candy World of my own with a little candy house sitting on top of a candy floss mountain... Yes, I'm using a ceramic watering can here, and made the candy floss mountain from scratch as though the candy floss is overflowing within... The inspiration comes from the fable of Hansel and Gretel's candy house... Instead of just building a candy house alone, I've created a Candy World instead using various chippies and mixed media goodies from my ScrapFX and Shimmerz Paints DT pack... This is actually part of a WIP (work in progress) project, which I'd be combining the idea of Jack and the Beanstalk to create a different story for my completed artwork... While I'm trying to piece up the chapters together, I just can't wait to share my little Candy World here...

I hereby extend my cutest welcome to everyone to enter into my little Candy World...

My Official Return as Graphic 45 DT and A Crafter's Card Holder Tutorial

Today is the day I come back to the Graphic 45 DT for the 2nd year... My first year with them was indeed a heavenly one and it's an experience that I'll never forget... Though there's a lot of changes in my life this year, it also means I'll have more work to do and there's a lot of adjustments to be made... While I'm "transcending" and adapting, I'm working hard to crack my brain cells more bringing more exciting artwork and projects in the near future...

As a start for my 2nd year with Graphic 45, I'm sharing here a tutorial for Father's Day or any other days which may deem fit for any other special occasion - a Crafter's card holders for the exquisite, rare and unknown... Beware of it's size, it only holds a minute amount of cards exclusively where cards are only given to a few which make them uniquely rare...

Alright, I'm not exactly sure how much cards are usually given on a daily basis unless you are a salesperson... But in my previous work as a Innovator/Researcher where I held different level of position, sometimes I don't even issue one card within a day... I'd have to warn you that these card holders can only hold a maximum of 5 typical name cards and they are indeed for the rare and exquisite people... If you've gold plated or diamond cards, these are probably ideal...

Alright here is my take for this Blog Hop, and I'm having a little tweak on these chippes... Instead of using them as they are on layouts, cards and such, I built this little candy house for my candy world... The trick here is to break apart various chippies to create something else... All you need is to break the conventional barrier and think out of the box... I know the chippies look too lovely to be break apart, all you need is a little courage to do that in order to create something new... With all these various laser cut chippes, creating become endless and fun...

I hope this has been an inspiration and happy hopping... A list of supplies follows by at the end of this post...

Love Beautiful Friends Butterfly Chest Box

When Prima release their Winter CHA collections, Butterfly is the only collection that caught my eye... After much planing, finally I've done up a mixed media project with a little flutter and whim... Presenting here Love Beautiful Friends Butterfly mixed media altered chest box... Happening this end June and early July at Made with Love and only opening for a few seats due to the nature of this class...

You will get to learn how to transform a plain wooden chest box into a rich vintage purplish wash-out texturized box, as well as building some small little stuffs within the box... There will be lots of mixed media involved and you will get to learn not just how to apply the colours, but also how to creature texture and distressing using various colours and mediums... But be warned, this class has a lot of fussy cuttings and if you were someone who has a concern in cutting, it may not be suitable for you... However, that's where all the details are...

Below is the promotional collage and additional pictures of the project... I hope to see some of you around... Cheers!!!
