A Prima Epiphany Mixed Media Layout

Alright scrapping peeps, I know some of you've been waiting for this and it's my pleasure to present my first ever start-to-finish mixed media video. Now screening on my YouTube channel. Yeah!!!

In this pilot video, I'm sharing a time-lapsed progress in how I created this pearlescent Epiphany mixed media layout using Prima's Epiphany paper collection, Ingvild Bolme's Shabby Chic Treasures, Prima flowers, Colour Bloom Sprays and Finabair's ArtBasics, ArtExtravagance and ArtIngredients. Yes it's a layout that I used almost 90% of Prima goodies!!! Though the general look of this layout look simple, but the work behind is not what you think it is as you will get to see in my video. The Epiphany collection contains a good blend of pastel blue, pink and gray which will be the colour palette I worked towards in building this layout. Filming is not really easy for start-to-finish mixed media videos as I'll have to plan properly to ensure the flow is smooth. Certain tasks such as fussy cutting, planning and positioning of embellishments to waiting for medium to dry are not shown in order to make the video within 30 minutes for maximum pleasure and view ability. I was quite excited yet nervous for this as I was pretty concern that it may not turn out that well. Finally I survived!!!

I had developed this photo of mine and had kept it for quite a long time till I decided to create a layout using Prima's Epiphany collection. The white pureness with a touch of soft pastels of this collection just make my heart flutter. I really love this collection. Moreover I'm a Christian and Epiphany has a biblical meaning to it. Epiphany itself is a traditionally observed church festival held on 6th January to celebrate the manifestation of the divine nature of Christ as represented by Magi (Matthew 2:1-12). Hence, I decided to create a layout to kick start this holiday season (though it's not 6th January yet), to commemorate my status as a child of God and the essence of the Gospel and Christ. Also, as a form of remembrance and realisations I've gotten from God.

Alright, before I bored you guys any further, here I'm presenting this for your crafting inspirations. Feel free to let me know what you think and remember to comment and subscribe to my channel. More photos below and a list of supplies as follows.

Happy crafting!!! Cheers!!!

A Typographic Grunge Altered Bookend for Core'dinations & Graphic 45 Blog Hop

On today's Core'dinations and Graphic 45 Blog Hop entry, I'm sharing this altered bookend which was orignally built by my youngest sister as part of her Design & Technology school project... We managed to find this bookend at a drawer near her desk one day while doing some spring cleaning back in my mum's place...

To give this book end a new lease of life, I decided to alter this bookend as a gift for her... Using some embossed clock images on Photogenic cardstock from the Core'dinations Signature Series as a texture foundation, I white-washed it and added on tons of metal staples and embellishments to achieve this typographic grunge look… Typography certainly has some interesting verses that I find it applicable to serve some wisdom for my sister - a reminder that life is not just about dreaming and hope for the best, but to live, laugh, adopt, encourage and be genuine… Patience is key and hope this sentimental altered piece will serve as a good life reminder...

I've also created a video tour in how I came up with the idea in altering this bookend as well as concept behind... Hope this will give you some ideas in how to alter pieces as such...

Happy altering!!! Cheers!!!

Upcoming Prima Classes at Made with Love

Hey scrappers, my latest upcoing Prima classes this November at Made with Love, a Coffee Break mini album and a Bloom Girl mixed media canvas layout... The mini album is a pure beginner class where the placement of elements and some fussy cutting involve... It's actually a pre-empt class for scrappers who don't really know my style well especially in areas of cutting and paper utlization...

The next interesting class is a mixed media layout class using one of the Bloom Girl stamp... You will learn how to apply colours on the Bloom Girl using various Ingvild Bolme chalk edgers, as well as creating the background using various mixed media products from Prima... It'd be something fun... But I'd have to warn you guys that it's not a pure beginner class... If you can't really colour, you may face problems and there's some fussy cutting to be done prior in attending the class in order to maximize the 3hr workshop...

Below is the promotional collage and additional pictures... Hope to see some of you at class..

Cheers!!!

Forever and Always... Keys to the Hearts Hanging Ornament...

To end this lovely month of February, here I'm sharing a hanging ornament that I created for this Valentine using Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments collection... As usual, I always love their pretty papers, especially the richness of pastels in this collection...

The concept of this altered project is actually inspired from Ferrero Rocher... Yes the spherical chocolate candy dressed in golden wrap that everyone knows!!! Who doesn't love chocolates, especially in the lovely month of February?? Don't these sweet Heart Rochers look yummy?? I felt so much "eating" them after creating them... This lovely piece is currently listed in my Etsy store for sale...

Bon appétit...

I enclosed an Ingvild Bolme shabby chic heart inside the
heart casing to make it "look" like a Rocher...
The additional of fluttering butterflies
just make the hearts so sweet...
At the end of the ornament, I hang another Ingvild Bolme
shabby chic heart and further dropped it with Graphic 45
shabby chic ornate keys, to go with the hearts together...

Learn... Me... Explore Journey... Believe... Life is About Creating Yourself...

Abstract elemental art, clean aqua teal colours... One of the shabby-grungy look I've created as a design team member for The Technique Twist challenge, using a sketch and a mood board from Once Upon a Sketch and Scrap Around the World as an inspiration...

Mood board from Scrap Around the World..

Something inspirational... Something about life... About creation... About life journey... Exploration and believing... I love the sea... The breezes... And fresh air... I wanted a layout that depicts about my life, from all the life lessons I've learned - big and small... To get a shabby grunge look, I used quite a number of Ingvild Bolme's Junkyard Findings water pipes, frames, typo bulbs and various chalk inks and mediums for this mix media project; all inspired from the various elements and colours from the mood board... So here is the final look....

I actually used a mini altered terracotta pot here...

My hand-written journaling "Embrace the greatest
Lessons given, grow and make a difference..."

I'm using part of the elements from the Periodic table,
which are the basic elements in Life...

Here is a list of supplies I've used for this project... Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day ahead...

Immaginarium Design Team Call - 10 Chipboard Projects

I just manage to learn about Immaginarium design team call last Sunday. I wanna try this!! However, I don't have 10 projects to show that uses chipboards. So to give this a shot, I decided to go into this crazy scrapping marathon for 6 days to create 10 projects (but at the end of the day I came up with 8 instead) that will be my favourites. This would be one of the most memorable scrapping challenge I ever had in my life history. But I do have so much fun in creating and especially when time is constraint, I'm amazed in how much my brain works.

Sad to say, its really very limited here, and there's isn't any Immaginarium chipboards I could find here for my projects. Hence I'd have to rely on these limited chipboards I could find. The first 2 of them are old which I happened to use some chipboards in my past projects, the rest are freshly baked, a labour of lots of love from my past 6 days of scrapping marathon.

1. Graphic 45 Happy Hunting Halloween Album...

A close-up view of a chipboard frame I've used where
I misted and StazOn...

2. Graphic 45 Winder Wonder Layout...

Using flourish chipboards from my stash, I painted, stamped
and give some shimmer to add a little winter touch...

3. Ingvild Bolme Junkyard Findings mixed media 3D Layout...

I had this huge floral frame chipboard in my stash where I misted, distress
and embossed it to match the colours for the layout...
Since it's so huge, I'd have to cut them and re-position them...

4. MDF Altered Dressform...

I bought some corner flourish chipboards from the USA...
Used tons of chalk inks and used them to dress her up!!!

Using "dreams" chipboard for this altered piece...

5. Prima Lyric Altered Chipboard Frame...

I sprayed, painted and glittered a mini chandelier chipboard
to match the frame... To give some dimension, I
added some dimensional pearls on it...

6. Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments Matchbox Dresser...

Used tons of Tattered Angels glimmer mist, glam, glaze and a blend of
chalk inks on the chipboard frame to match the paper collection...

7. Tim Holtz Idea-ology Altered Grunge Clock...

Right at the back of the clock, I image transfered
and distressed a steampunk clock gear chipboard...

8. Graphic 45 Couture Mini Top Hat...

This top hat is created using toilet paper roll and its only 2.5" tall together
with the flowers... This chipboard mask really looks big on the hat...

9. Prima Romance Noel Spool...

I created this spool using Prima's wood embellishment
together with a used plastic ribbon spool... This is one
small spool, stands at 2" tall, with the hot air ballon,
it's ~4"... I bought these tiny chipboard butterflies and
it's just nice for this spool..

10. Cupcake Pincushion, an Altered Manson Jar...

I simply used the "love" chipboard solely as a decor on this
4oz mason jar... A great gift to be given...

Thanks for viewing and pop by here. I wish all the best to everyone who apply for this. Good luck and have fun!!!
